Super Mario Bros. Pizzeria

Find me someone who does not like Super Mario and ill give you... i cant think of anything worthy, everyone likes Mario! i created this piece after having a vision of the Mario brothers running a pizzeria, I ended up turning the original art into the logo you see here and eventually laser etching some ply with the finished logo.

Super Mario Vintage Find!

i found this vintage Nintendo image whilst scouring the internet for useless stuff, i had to do something with it! i found where the image came from and gave it a little colour based on the original Metal sign displayed further down, further work to come from this...

Look at that 5o'clock shadow



the set is finally dressed to a stadard that i am happy with as it looks more lived in than before, i have also added to Mario to try and make him more run down and beliviable as a character, i added a stuble effect and tried to stain his clothes a little, REAL tomato sauce on the top....

Mario has clothes




Some Test shots of Mario in his apartment, he still needs some hair on his chest and some slippers and the apartment needs the rest of his furnishings but its looking good! big thanks to Sabrina for doing the clothes, they look amazing!

"Itsa' me Mario!"



So Mario got some facial features, the eyes can look in any direction and the brow and eyebrows are moveable to get some exspressions, im not happy with the hair and moustache i need to add more gray to make him seem more aged! the hat was made from Super Sculpey, im loving the stuff!

One layer of skin please...





Some Shots of the process of adding the skin layer to my Mario puppet, the grey hair around the head is staying but needs to be textured, im still toying with the idea of a grey moustache, im not sure if i can do that to Mario...

He's Been Eating his Pasta!



I sclupted the two polystyrene balls to resemble Mario's physique more, i have secured the arms and legs and its time to start adding the plastacine (note: the moustache is for illustration purposes only, expect the real one to be much larger!)

Mario's home develops





Some of the latest shots of my set, i have added the walls and the walpaper to them, i tested what it looks like with some of the pieces i have aquired too, there just there to add a bit of toppings to the picture, really pleased so far BUT i need to get all the Mario gear in there!

Jims been a busy boy!


I started painting and built the kitchen and cooker unit in the corner! gotta get some walls in then i can start more decorating, please notice my marble fireplace! i thought it looked pretty good!

Super Mario's abode...



So i started construcing some pieces of my set for my upcoming Super Mario Animation, the pieces are constructed from basla wood so they are very lightweight, it also means they can be just glued together!
