Lasercutter Work

Experiments using the lasercutter! the first is a birthday card cut for a friend, the second was a test which worked well and was eventually engraved on a iPhone case...

Lasercut Oni, had to cut the rest of the shape by hand, i think that the burned in wood effect is mega cool!

Added a little colour to the design, i am much more confident with picking and choosing colours and adding highlights after a little research and reading on colour theory, i believe it shows! the brush swipes were a little bit to finish it all off and work perfectly

New work using the Oni Demons theme again, this is the initial Ink work that im going to experiment with lasercutting, i want to try a few different effects!

Using the image that i found of Mario i created this on the Lasercutter at work, the image is cut from MDF, i love how it came out! im am using this as a experiment for future work...

Super Mario Vintage Find!

i found this vintage Nintendo image whilst scouring the internet for useless stuff, i had to do something with it! i found where the image came from and gave it a little colour based on the original Metal sign displayed further down, further work to come from this...

im really pleased with the halftone lines and dots i managed to create to give it that "50's Bubblegum" look!

The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past

This one was very very hard for me, it took much longer than the others. the reason for this? its possibly one of my favorite games of all time, ever! i really wanted to do it justice, i procrastinated for ages on layout, spacing, and which artwork to include, i eventualy got to something that i liked, i feel i could have done more but that is just the perfectionist in me! i feel its awesome as it is, and it HAD to have the classic gold colour!

Super Mario Kart

Next was Super Mario Kart! this was difficult as i couldn't choose between the japanese or western box art, its a similar image but utilmutly the japanese won outright, its just that little bit cooler... i went a bit crazy with the original artwork cause i had the booklet for this one so i could scan the originals, i couldn't leave them behind! i love the old drawings so much!

Super Mario World was up next, i based my cover more heavily on the Japanese release of the game as the artwork is so much more intricate than the European art work

Super Nintendo Re-Design

if you have ever had a Super Nintendo then you know that the cardboard cases they come in get mashed up if you dont look after them, and if your buying second hand, you pay a bit too much for the ones in good boxes! so my project to house my snes games in VHS tape cases began...

Super Mario World

Super Mario Allstars was up first, i used the red and gold colour theme from the recently redesigned Allstars released on the Wii, i used the Europe artwork and my own screenshots for the back cover

Okay this time i used my regular method of brush and ink for the line-work, then scanned it and used the Wacom for colour... i think this method works much better!
